My Take Away
This book was a bit of a let down for me. After reading the description, I was really excited to hear about the author’s spiritual journey and how she grew closer to God. However, what I found was a book that focused on short, disjointed stories and experiences from trucking. Though each chapter began with a Bible verse, and occasionally references to her pastor, or to God were mentioned, and each chapter ended in prayer, I often struggled to see exactly how God was taking the author on a spiritual journey through the experience. Unfortunately, I struggled to follow along with the flow of the stories because each story jumped years and locations.
I found the first couple of chapters to be the most informative, but not about spiritual journey. They taught me much about what trucking school is like, and what it is like for a women to enter that world. About halfway through the book, there was a list of ten truths the author had learned about life from trucking. This was, in my opinion, the best part of the book.
