Every little girl dreams of being a princess. I know I did. Even now, I call Sarabeth princess. I want her to know that she is special, valued, set apart. Along with that is the message that princesses live their lives by a different set of rules. And as God’s princess, she must live by his rules.
We were given a set of books that help us solidify this message for Sarabeth. My Princesses is a series of picture books that helps young girls understand how they too can be princesses. Each book is based on scripture.
Meet the Princesses
As you read the story, you enter the world of two little girls – Hope and Grace. They believe that they are princesses and are learning to act accordingly. As always, the girls encounter a struggle of sorts. One of the girls is able to share a Bible lesson that they have learned to help the girls navigate through their struggle. Not only do these books teach Bible verses, and stories, but they teach little girls how to live out those stories in life. The struggles encountered in the books are normal, everyday occurrences. They have to learn how to share clothes while playing dress up, and how to include others and share.
The stories are sweet, illustrated beautifully and fun to read. Even now, Sarabeth will sit with me and page through the stories even though they are a bit above her comprehension level. They are definitely helping me develop her love of books!
