What does it look like for you to live a legacy life?
A legacy life is an intentional life. It’s a life that is lived with eyes on God. Recogizing that he is the one giving purpose to your life.
It’s a life that is lived for the moments. Collecting things that matter, not just keeping hold of every single thing. It’s looking at the bigger picture rather than focusing on the single solitary stressful moment.
It’s a life that chooses to live on purpose.
It means doing life in community.
It means doing life when it’s hard.
And I think it also involves seeking out relationships where you can share the things you’ve learned.
Whether it’s with your own children, kids in a youth group, your kids friends, anyone adult you can walk alongside. It doesn’t matter as long as you are teaching someone else the things that you are learning.
2 Timothy commands us women to be teaching the younger generation. It’s showing the next generation of kids what it means to live loved. To seek God. Study their Bibles. Develop character. To persevere. To show them what it means to live in community. Encouraging one another.
When you have these kind of relationships in your life, you develop a pattern of legacy.
When I look back on the last 12 or so years, I think about Mary. She’s been such an integral part of my life and my journey with God. She’s left a legacy on my life that can’t be denied. She’s sought me out, studied the Bible with me, taught me from her life, and learned from me as well.
Living my legacy life has meant seeking out those intentional relationships in order to share your legacy with others. People need to learn from you just as much as you need to learn from them!
